KIS Accreditations

KIS accreditation reflects its 100 years in global education as an academically selective school preparing students for entry into colleges and universities around the world.

1. Founded in 1901 as an American school for the children of missionaries in South India
2. Kodaikanal School's first high school diploma recipient, Tracey Manley, graduated in 1930
3. Accredited by the Middle States Association (MSA) of Colleges and Schools in 1968, now accredited by both secondary and elementary school divisions (CSS and CES)
4. The first IB and international school in India with the introduction of the International Baccalaureate Diploma in 1976 when it was renamed KIS and the MYP program in 2006
5. Recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, Delhi in 1981
6. Member of the Council of International Schools (CIS)
7. Member of Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA)
8. Member of National Honor Society (NHS), US based student leadership organization
